These plants are required for pretreatment of water where the source is surface water e.g. river, lake etc. These can be used to handle large amounts of fine suspended solids. These equipment are also used in ETPs and STPs for settling of sludge. Clarifiers can also be used to increase the size of suspended solids floc so that they can be settled or trapped in media filtration.
